JK Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers lifts 11th Amity Insurance Cricket Cup trophy

In the sensational finals of 11th Amity Insurance Cup played between JK Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers Vs Oriental Insurance Company held at Amity University Grounds, JK Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers defeated Oriental Insurance Company by 51 runs      .

After winning the toss JK Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers decided to bat first. With the help of quick 39 runs by Badrish and 30 runs by Saurav, JK Risk Managers scored a total of 160 runs at loss of 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs.

In reply Oriental Insurance Company was able to score only 109 runs at loss of 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs.

Nitesh of JK Risk Managers was announced Man of the Match for his brilliant spell of 4 wickets by giving 19 runs. Nitesh also won Man of Tournament award for his all round performance of making 288 runs including 2 centuries while batting and taking 5 wickets while balling.

After the finals of Amity Insurance Cricket Cup, the award ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Shri Raj Kumar Sharma, renowned Cricketer & Coach; Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor – Amity University; Mr. Ajay Chauhan, Trustee – Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, Maj. Gen K.Jai Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity University and Prof. R.R. Grover, Advisor, Amity School of Insurance, Banking & Actuarial Sciences gave away the trophy to the winners and the runners- up. Mr. Nishant from Oriental Insurance Company was announced Best Batsman, Mr. Sanjay Jain from Oriental Insurance Company got Best Bowler trophy.

Prof. R.R. Grover, Advisor, Amity School of Insurance, Banking & Actuarial Sciences (ASIBAS) said that in order to bring the insurance companies on a common platform and to develop a sense of solidarity, ASIBAS organizes Amity Insurance Cricket Cup Tournament annually to support the underprivileged girl children. The registration and sponsorship amount of this annual event helps in raising funds for this noble project “Amitasha”. The 11th Amity Insurance Cricket Cup commenced on December 08, 2012 with the participation of 16 companies from the Insurance Sector. This year the venture has raised the fund of Rs. Four Lacs twenty and one thousand.
 
Shri Raj Kumar Sharma, renowned Cricketer & Coach lauded the efforts of Amity Humanity Foundation and the work done by the Foundation for the up-lifment of the underprivileged girl child. Mr. Sharma advised the players to imbibe their sporting spirit rather than winning in their game. He encouraged students to be professional in their approach and imbibe values and concentrate in their games. While addressing the students of Amity University, Mr. Sharma, who is also coach of renowned Indian Batsman Virat Kohli, said that as a coach he will happy to provide his services for the cricket team of Amity.

Mr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor – Amity University expressed his happiness on successful completion of Amity Insurance Cricket Cup. Mr Chauhan said that JK Risk Managers & Insurance Brokers is champion but other teams are also equally talented. Participation matters most than winning the tournament.
The teams that have participated in this edition of Amity Insurance Cricket Cup were – Max Life Insurance Company, ICICI Prudential, ICICI Lombard, Newgen Software, Miliman, HDFC Ergo, National Insurance, Canara HSBC, Oriental Insurance, Reliance General, Metlife, LIC of India, JK Brokers, Future Generali, TATA AIG General and Reliance Money.

The Cup is dedicated to support the Foundation’s NGO arm, “AMITASHA”, the institution which was founded under the visionary leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson AMITASHA and Amity International Schools. Amitasha is working for the education and up-liftment of ‘girl child’ belonging to the disadvantaged sections of the society.
